2004 F-150 Supercrew FX4
 

$9800. 2004 Supercrew (crew cab) F-150. FX4 4x4 package, 156k miles. 5.4 3v runs smooth with plenty of power. Truck is VERY clean, and was driven daily. No mechanical issues. The truck has been in my family since it rolled off the lot, and has had its oil changed at strict 3000 mile intervals using ONLY Motorcraft oil and filter. Power sunroof and sliding rear window fully operational, AC blows Ice cold. Automatic headlights. Trailer brake controller. 2" leveling kit. Heavy-duty front springs. Billstein shocks. Cruise control fully functional. Drop-in bedliner. Bluetooth stereo for music and phone calls. It has an Edge tuner; I don't run a tune with it, but use its display as 4 accessory gauges (RPM, ECT, TFT, fuel economy). The Edge can also display diagnostic trouble codes. I love this truck and am sad to let it go. Clean title in hand.

I have receipts for all parts as well as a work history list that will go with the truck. Short-list of work performed in the last few years:

155k miles
-Oil/filter (Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w-30, motorcraft filter)
-front wheel hubs/bearings
-IWEs
-IWE control solenoid
-Motorcraft throttle body and TPS
-air filter box re-sealed

150k miles
-Complete timing system rebuild (phasers, chains, tensioners, guides, timing cover, roller followers, lash adjusters) using Ford parts. Cams were removed at this time and were fine, especially for the mileage, same for the cam towers. Engine is SPOTLESS inside the valve covers (see pic below) and required no cleaning/de-sludging.
-Melling 360 HV oil pump
-Oil pan removed to clean pickup screen
-drive belt, both idlers and belt tensioner
-Power steering pump and hard lines; new PS fluid and a filter were installed at this time
-FPDM
-engine thermostat and coolant flush
-air filter
-new PCV line
-New Motorcraft SP546 spark plugs (none broke when removed) and all new Motorcraft coils. Engine doesn't miss a beat.
-Drain/fill front and rear differential fluids (75w-90 full syn Mobil 1 in the front, 75w-140 royal purple in the rear)
-Glasspack muffler. Great sound when accelerating, comfortable sound when cruising

145k miles
-new 275-70R18 tires and wheels
-new brake pads on all 4 wheels
-new front calipers
-transmission fluid/filter. New pan with drain plug installed, and fluid was drained/filled at every subsequent oil change (Mercon V)
-transfer case fluid (straight Mercon)
-neutral safety switch
-new third brake light
-new battery

Pinion seal and axle bearings/seals done at about 130k.

I tend to replace items preventively rather than out of necessity, and have a pile off used but good spare parts to go with the vehicle, including front wheel hubs, throttle body, stock air intake, extra timing cover gasket set. The only 2 issues with the truck are a slight exhaust leak from the driver's manifold (can't be heard with window shut when cruising), and the left rear window regulator failed, so I unplugged the motor and secured the window so that it can't move; all 4 other windows and sunroof work perfectly.
