Well maybe its a dumb 2 part question, anybody know what manual trans was put into the 98 f150 (t-5, T-45) I have no idea. Does anybody know who makes a short throw shifter or just a different handle for it?????

98 f150 xl 2 wheel drive 4.6 windsor and a 5 speed

maybe the M5OD. check the left side of the tranny for a ID tag.

I know Hurst makes a short throw shift column that works well. Hurst # 3915026 is the number i think, but if you just want a new handle, with a little bit of redneck engineering you can put another shift **** on your splined column. I used a strong epoxy adhesive, ans set screws to put a pistol grip on my stock shift column, and it looks sweet.

How did ya get your old one (original) off??? Mine doesn't want to budge at all?? (98 XL, 5spd)
