Default XPipe on a 97

does anyone have an Xpipe on a 97 with a 4.6l engine? i need pics so i can see how the piping is ran. local shops say there isnt room. if possible sound file would be great too so i can get an idea if i want to just get a SIDO muffler

there is plenty of room, if they are ruining dual pipes, there has to be room for the x-pipe.

you need to go to a different shop, this is the second screwy thing that I have herd you talk about this shop saying.

multiple shops saying it. should i just go with a SIDO? what is going to be better performance wise

if i dont get headers, will i still get a performance gain or will it be wasting money

well, you have to understand, you drive a pickup, not a car, you will only get so much, lol

but a good exhaust system will help you out, no doubt.

i know, i just want to get a little better performance, but i was talking to someone a about an hour ago and he told me to get headers first then an exhaust, i wasnt going to worry about headers.

What you do is cut the pipes at the end of the cats. And run your xpipe. Right after the cats. Then continue your exhaust from there. Atleast thats how I did my H pipe. But honestly. Just run an Hpipe you will get the same performance. And it will save you time.

the x pipe i found is the same as the h-pipe strait in strait out

but do you have any pics, i have a cat on each side of my truck not in the center, so i dont understand where it could be put at besides where the stock muffler is right now.

when you run true duals, you cut the pipes off right were it used to go into the y pipe, that is where you put the x-pipe, and run the two pipes the rest of the way back.
