Post Worth it to put rims on it?

It's my first truck, and as it stands the rims look terrible in my opnion.I have already tried spray painting, and that didn't last long in the arizona sun.
Heres a picture of my truck-

and heres the rims I was looking into.

Any opnions? I plan on keeping the truck so.Should I put rims and tires on it? also have plans to put some small subs in later.Along with re doing the interior, and painting eventually. Also the truck is FULL of rust because it came out of wisconsin, but I can't complain for a first truck, I got it for free.

I'm 18 when I was 16 I got my first truck, 03 super crew. My advice would be to just save for a better truck because by the time you spend thousands modding you'll realize you have a truck that has more aftermarket parts then it's worth. Eventually you'd wanna sell it and the trade in price or sell price wouldn't go up much because its still old and had rust. I mean unless you plan on doing. Restoration and engine swap which are my plans about 10 years from now when my truck starts falling apart lol. If not I would just save cash and use your babee for what she's worth especially since it was free don't mean to sound harsh but I know how exciting it is to dump money Into your truck especially the first one so don't get tempted :p

I'd put the chrome wheels on it. It's amazing how much a set of wheels will make a truck, I saved all summer the year before last to get mine. If you plan on keeping the truck you might as well roll in style.

Yeah I plan on keeping it, so why not make it nice? And I mean it's got a v6 in it so it gets great gas mileage, so even if I do get tired of it, why not make it nice and use it for a race weekend truck?

MxOtero411 has it right, save your cash and pick up a newer truck. Your gonna end up bagging your first truck anyways. Mine was a 91 f150 and i killed it within 5months from bombing offroads to much and not taking proper care of her.

I agree you should save your money up and buy a solid truck. Sure maybe tinker around with it and do some cheap stuff since that's what your going to drive around an what not but you will regret putting a s**t load of money into it when it blows up on ya (not really blow up but you understand what I mean) and then you wasted all the money your coulda been saving to buy a GOOD truck

I didn't originally see the part about rust, I'd definitely try to get a more solid truck.

Can anyone give me a good idea on a price for a decent truck? I mean I really could care less about the year, all I want is cheap insurance, and good gas mileage.it also has to be rust free.I tried sanding my frame this past weekend with a drill and a wired brush bit but I didn't really get anywhere with it.

Aftermarket rims are essentially worthless when you decide to sell/trade the truck. Because of that, you can usually find plenty of slightly used rims (with tires) at really low prices on Craigslist. Take a look and see i you can ind some you like used before you sink the coin for new rims.

If you have room to store them, keep the OEM rims to put back on when you get rid of the truck. If you buy a set of used rims for $200-$300, you'll probably be able to resell them for the same amount in a couple of years.

That being said, of the two choices you posted, I like the bright rims better than the all black ones. What I think looks even better are the rims with a combo of black and silver.
