if you hide the wires right then they wont get close to the engine, heres where i ran mine - if you can see the small blue wire going around, with the yellow wire hooked to the battery. and that was right after i wired them up, a couple days later i went back and covered every wire with wire loom

I have a wire that runs across there as well. If I remember correctly (I ran it nearly 2 years ago) it goes to the CB and also used to pull double duty and go to a switch for the front lights before I slightly rewired the switch to receive power from the high beam wire instead so those lights are still switched but only come on and off with the high beams when the switch is on (which is always).

What side is this grommet on? And how much carpet do I have to pull up? My only concern is that I've already wired my lights so i'll have to pull into the cab AND the fact that my power wires have inline fuses so I have to pull those in as well.

you didnt put the fuses right where it connects to the battery?

this is where the grommet is from the inside, going through the firewall at the same spot as the hood release cable

and this is from under the hood behind the fuse box where the wires will come out from when your going to the battery

i ran the wires through the cab vent flapper, cut out where the wire went in the flapper and sealed er up.

No...they came online near the middle of the wire length between where they hooks to the switches and the battery....
