Default Romeo Vs Windsor

I have a 2002 F150 4.6 Romeo 2V engine. I have a friend who has 1997 F150 4.6 NPI windsor heads that are ported and polished. I am wondering if anyone knows for sure if they will fit on my truck. If not, then what is the difference.

Please don't post simple answers. I would like to know how you get to your conclusions and what resources you used to find out.

The will bolt up and work with all or your accessories as long as you get the valve covers with them. The main difference is Romeos are 11 bolt VCs and Windsors have 13 bolt VCs.

But why would you want to downgrade your heads?

And you would actually need his intake as well. Your best bet would be to find another set of PI heads.

Technically not a downgrade since they are ported and polished. First you need to know the exact porter of the heads. The npi heads are not as good as a pi but since they have been worked the " could" flow more cfm. Not worth the swap tho imo. If you don't know details about the heads then its a no go. Only good thing about them is that fact they are ported but to what extent.

NPI head even ported will never be as a good as PI heads. PI heads have a better chamber design along with a better ceiling to valve angle than the NPI. PI heads also have a smaller compression chamber. Stick with PI heads.

A npi stage three port from livernoise,MHS,MMR will outflow a factory pi. Like I stated tho the pi head is a better performing head stock to stock and even ported vs ported. But a properly ported NPI head will outflow a non ported Pi.

Yes, A properly ported modular head. Most performance shop will port heads but will not know exactly what needs to be done to modular heads.

see we can agree carcrazy. I just dont think any idiot can get a dremel and port a head properly. that being said I doubt his buddy's head is properly worked my a reputable head shop.
