Angry major rough idle, under load, no codes?

well its another problem today. I got bored sittin at home, and decided to go cruise the town for a little bit. I was drivin for about 15 minutes or so(all is fine for now), and stopped at the gas station to grab some chewing tobacco. got back in the truck and had about 1/2 mile to get home, and was comin around a little bend on the road and started to throttle up, and it shook really bad. Got to a stop sign and it was shaking really bad. Got back on the throttle and it felt like it was going to die. And my exhaust is pretty loud, and it was rapping so loudly. Well i pulled in the driveway to open the garage door and got behind the truck. Its popping out of the right side of the truck. now i have true duals, if that matters. I also smelled what seemed like gun powder. Now Ive had this problem in the past, and its turned out to be a bad or wet coil pack. This happened last winter once, im not sure why, but the second time, i think it was because my engine bay filled up with snow from a high wind snow storm. And was told the number 8 coil back is susseptable to moisture more than others cuz of the slant of the motor. And the first time it did it, I had ford dealer scan it and it was the same Coil. Second time it was the same coil, so thats been changed twice. I know the trucks missing but, does this sound like another coil going bad? Or could it be something else? should i run it until the CEL comes on. Im just scared I may damage the CATS if i run it too much like that. And I really dont feel like pulling every coil to check each one.

By the way its a 99 f 150 5.4 w/ 140000
It seems like one problem after another

Just trying to get details, are you calling the right side the passenger side? The #8 is in the back on the driver side.
I would recommend pulling the plugs on the side you are hearing the noise and do a inspection on their performance.

yes, right side passanger side. and i know # 8 is drivers side rear.(or left) K well i went to buy a coil pack, and drove it for a little while trying to get it to throw a code and it didnt. so im gonna check the OHMs reading on them tomorrow to see which one is bad. I kinda figured it was a COP, just wanted to make sure it wasnt something else, seeings how this is the third time its done it in less than a year. I was hoping I would get the CEL to come on, so i could pin-point the problem, but now i have to go dig around and test out in a cold garage. BUt I agree with you, I kinda think its one on the passanger(right) side. Thanks man

OBTW, I had plugs replaced not too long ago. So I hope thats not the problem
