Question Windshield Wiper Fluid?

I just ran out of windshield wiper fluid for the first time. Need to figure out a refill but looking it up is giving conflicting answers. Do I need to use a ford brand or will Rain-X 2-IN-1 for -25-degree washer fluid work? Also looking to replace my wind shield wipers as they are streaky. Any recommendations? Thank you!

"Welcome to the forum"
You don't say where you live but @ this time of the year you can pretty much use any brand (that suits you) also -25 is probably overkill.
Rainex seems to be a good product??
Bosch & michelin are my go to wipers........Again to each their own & what luck you personally have had??

I live in CA at the moment but will probably be on the east coast in the next year or so. I had a feeling that the requirements for "ford brand only" were wrong. Glad to have that confirmed.

I've only had the truck for about a year now (inherited it from a grandparent) so I haven't done much of the hands-on work at all except for replacing the radio. So, I'm not even sure what brand wipers I have currently. I'll check those recs out. Thank you!!

Ford doesn’t even make windshield washer fluid. Use what floats the boat.

I use whatever Walmart has that fits the temperature. It’s just a little “soap” and dependent on temp rating, a little something to keep it from freezing…..alcohol?
Cheap works fine.
I don’t care for anything labeled RainX. It may work great in the pouring rain but clearing the dew off a window is a no go for me.

Oh yes, they do!
I've been using it for 40 + years
It comes as a concentrate, and you can mix it as strong as you want Alaska to Maui
Part number ZC-32-B2

I posted this about wiper blades awhile back.

Saw a video awhile back on longer wiper blades on the 10th gen. Finally decided to get the longer blades and install them. 26" drivers, 24" passenger. It makes a dramatic difference. I'd recommend it for sure.

silicone ones last longer. I prefer the beam style.

I used to deliver tanker loads of Methanol to the windshield fluid manufacturers. All they do is bottle water/Methanol & dye.
Most was just made using water and the Methanol and blue dye, the summer blend was less Methanol and a little soap added for bug removal with a pink dye..
In the summer I just use plain old water with a little soap mixed in. But I make sure when the cold weather is coming I fill with the winter blend and run it thru the system..
