Default Winch

So as there is no aftermarket support for heavy duty bumpers for our trucks due to weight stress on the front suspension, how would one go about mounting a winch to their truck?

I want a winch but I don't want one of the portable ones nor do I wanna mount a front hitch.

What are my options?

Lenn,
I mounted my winch to a Warn hidden winch mount. Fairly inexpensive and not too hard to install,
check it out http://www.autoanything.com/winches/....aspx?kc=ffsku

Looks like the bar across the bottom would need to be removed or modified.

Winch is a sore subject around here. I had mine bolted up on the cross member, below the crank pully the fairlead came out the hole in the lower valence. But some little bastard came onto the land and stole it, ughhh THIEFS "warn 9000 at that" anyways I don't think it's possible for stock trucks though, I think the steering linkages are in the way
