Some fit some don't. Could use wheel spacers

Well you need to make sure they won't rub the frame, but mostly you'll be rubbing on your bumper. Plenty of ways to just trim your bumper down until it doesn't rub anymore, it's just plastic.

I don't think I'll be cutting the bumper. Haha. That's not plastic. Would I have to cut the plastic inner wheel wells though? But I guess if I have to cut those I'd have to cut the whole fender. Maybe the easiest way to find out is take it to a tire shop and see what the guys there have to say about it. Maybe even do a test fit with one tire/wheel.

97 has the mostly metal bumper, with a bit of plastic. Still trim-able, but would probably look like ****.

It wouldn't. If you trim at the right angles

Not quite sure I am willing to but would trimming the bumper a bit in the bottom (plastic part) make the tire fit? It seems that would be the first spot to rub but where else should I check?

For all the headache you are going to go through I think you'd be better off getting like a 16x9, or 16x8 with a -12ish offset in the style you like. My 17x9's where only 800 for the set with the mounting and balancing of my tires.

Just bought a set of wheels off of craigslist because they were cheap and I hate my stock wheels. They are 16" (like the stock ones) but they are about 11 inches wide (this may be the biggest problem). I'm not 100% on the offset but it definitely looks like it is a bit of a negative offset. Previous owner had them on a 98 F150 with like a 8 inch lift. lol.

I want to get tires with aggressive tread (currently using General Grabber AT2s and like them) that look good on the truck (NO TIRE STRETCHING) and I want them to fit on the truck without any/few modifications to height. I like the look of the wheels a little outside the fender so hopefully this will work out well. I need to know if 305/70/16 tires (basically 33") would fit/not rub/not require modification on this truck. If anyone has ran this setup before, I would highly appreciate the input. Oh, and I'm a broke college student who can't spend too much on tires. But I mostly just want to know what will fit and what won't.
If the wheel is 11" wide your probably in the -25-30mm offset range as a 12" while wheel is -44 always. with true 33x12.5 and a 4x4 with a leveling kit I still had to trim the inner cab and front valence to clear lock to lock, I can assure you on a 2wd you won't be able to make this happen unless you get out the saw saw and go to town.
