It was dark when I took these so you can’t see it very well. Got a free iPod touch with it lol. Got the interior gutted with the exception of the dash today!

I used a 1 ton chain hoist with 3 come alongs, lifted it up high enough to clear the engine, then pulled the frame forward. Going to use the same thing when I do the body swap, but make it more stable. I wasn’t being too careful because this cab is complete garbage.

Not the most professional looking contraption but it worked pretty good.
Lol. No , not professionallooking. Won't win any awards in aesthetics or the art show. But who cares, you got it right anyway...it's all in the gussets. You have some of those engineering on the fly skills lol.

Also, the best way to do an engine swap imo. Hard to say which is faster, but man, it's all easy access popping the cab.....worth it! Being thorough would be a piece of cake.

Anyway, -Nice job!

Yeah I’ve never seen my neighbors looking any more confused than they did when I was building it lol. If it works, it works! Yeah it’s very easy to work on this way! Going to get the frame cleaned up real nice and painted. Thanks!

Swapping the steering column complete would be the best way along with the 03 full wiring set up.

I'm not 100% sure on the door wiring but since the doors are different, I believe the door wiring is also. Something to check also
The 2003 was an XL, manual windows and locks. The 98 is an XLT with power everything, do you know if I’ll be able to keep the power windows, locks, and mirrors? If so could I also add keyless entry? Thanks in advance.

I got the bed bolts out last night, came right out with a 1/2 ratchet. I love working on a rust free truck. It’s nice to not have to grind the heads off them for a change lol. Also pulled off the bumper, and swapped my 2003 grill and lightning style headlights with XenonPros, and I have a brand new 99-03 bumper with brackets that I have not installed. Also installed new Spyder brand taillights and a new third brake light, I like these because they are factory style, but led and I thought they matched the headlights nicely.

For some reason the cloudy weather makes them look smoked, but they’re not lol.
