Looks like he built a 2x4 A frame. You can see it in the second pic behind the frame.

Made a structure out of wood, it was a little unstable but it worked pretty good. Only cost me $70 at Home Depot. I used a 1 ton chain hoist with 3 come alongs, lifted it up high enough to clear the engine, then pulled the frame forward. Going to use the same thing when I do the body swap, but make it more stable. I wasn’t being too careful because this cab is complete garbage.

Not the most professional looking contraption but it worked pretty good.

Really! I had no idea thanks for the info!

The radiator core support has only 1 number listed for 97-04H. 4L1Z-16139-BA, with or without sensor mounting hole. That means the 97-01 used one support, 02-04H used a different one, but now all use the last one.

Thanks for this. I remember something changing and the later ones working for all years, just got my years wrong.

Don't be surprised if you end up having to replace the support on your new cab. They always seem to be rusted out at the frame mount.

By support are you referring to the cab mounts? Planning on getting new ones.

I bought the 98! No rust! Best $400 I’ve ever spent. A shipping company is delivering it to me on Monday. First thing I’m doing is completely gutting the interior. It’s horrendous. Somebody went crazy with a can of black spray paint and painted the door panels, dash, and plastic trim. And didn’t take any of it out to do it. And the seats are torn up real bad and the headliner is sagging. This truck has 192K. My 03 has 214K and the interior looks 10 times better. (I’m swapping my interior into it with a brand new carpet) The only problem (besides the interior) is that the timing is off. Guess I’ll get it timed to spec and see how good this 4.6L is. I thought I took pictures of the interior but I can’t find them. But here’s some pics of the truck.
