Why do you love your 1997-2003?

Thought about getting a newish truck. 09-14 model. Since for some reason I don't trust the 11 gens. For about 30k I can get a couple choices form the dealership. But for 25k financed about that's about 500 a month. Plus rise in insurance. And all the mods I would want to do. Not worth it to me at this time. When I first got the truck I wasn't horribly fond of the body styling or it being a 2wd. But it has grown on me. And from being on the forum I know this truck in and out.

Ya well, some of us can get quite attached to them. Mine has a lot of sentimental value. Met my wife in it, bought my first house while I had it, brought my daughter home from the hospital in it when she was born. And countless good memories.
I love my truck.

GO SOX!
Most have hit the key notes already. It looks good, drives good and is a solid truck. It takes care of me if I take care of it. I traded my 03 in on an SUV years ago and immediately regretted it. I got rid of that, bought my wife another SUV and went hunting for another 10th. I found my 99 and will never get rid of it, regardless of any other vehicle I may purchase.

I tell you what guys. Cruising home tonight with the temperatures in the 40's, the rain coming down; with myself being dry, warm, and totally comfortable in my F150 felt great.
