wheres my oil and antifreez going
Ok I have a 2003 f150 with the 5.4l its a reman engine from precision out of Texas I belive its a later model 5.4 due to it I blew a plug out already it only has about 15000 on it.it uses oil and antifreeze but it doesnt smoke and has no antifreeze in the oil and no oil in the antifreeze I run 5 20 in it never ran that until this engine always ran 10 30 in every thing so what your thoughts on this let me know and thanks

It is either leaking somewhere or being burned in the cylinders there is no other possible explanation. First law of physics, "matter can neither be created nor destroyed".
I think you should pull each plug and look into the cylinder for coolant.
It could be a defective head or intake manifold gasket.
Also check your transmission fluid, the coolant could be mixing into your transmission.
As for oil, my Crown Vic uses a quart every 1,000 miles and has since new. Those Ford V8's are "loose" engines.
If I were you I would be using pure synthetic 5-20, so that is right.
Remember, with synthetic oil it takes a lot longer for things to "break in" on an engine because synthetic reduces friction so much.
I think the oil thing will eventually stop, but the coolant thing is a problem, and my guess is you will find the transmission fluid is up on the dipstick.

1. All reman engines carry a warranty, I don't know when the engine was purchased but you should check that.
2. That head gasket repair junk you put in the coolant works very well in most cases, so all is not lost.
Let's wait and see.

I mean, who is checking them? The FDA? LOL
I would rather have a used engine from the salvage yard, they are cheap and most likely running if the truck is wrecked.
If you can rebuild an engine yourself, that is the best way to go.
