Lightbulb Questions bout 3.25 rear end

Ok so I have a 81f150 with the 300 straight 6 and I dropped a 3.25 diff in it what should I be expecting of this. I drove it down the driveway and it seemed a little more torquee and a good bit faster but i think my speedo is not correct at 2000 rpm in 1st gear on 4speed stick it was doing 35. Any ideas about it anyone?

If you change a rear end to a different ratio, of course the speedometer will be off. You will have to find what you had originally, then pull the plastic gear on the transmission, and replace it with a correct gear for the 3.25 ratio and the tire size is needed to be correct.

This is necessary in your year, since OBDII had not come out yet with digital dash.

What was the original gear ratio?
