Default Whats wrong with my truck?

the other day i was in 4 wd is some ruts and i turned the wheel a little too sharp and gunned it, something broke. I heard a loud pop and grinding noise. It sounds god awful while driving and when i turn it sounds like a hammer in a barrel. I put it in 4low and 4hi to see if it still did it and when in 4 lo it doesnt make the noise until i turn. 4low and 2wd sound just horrible. What could it be? I can feel the truck jumping and skipping when i turn

Im guessing the noise is in the front end and my bet is a cv shaft. Or worse case front diff. But my money's on a cv shaft

I don't think it's overly expensive... Maybe couple hundred? I'm not 100% sure. As far as driving with it I'm not sure how the hubs on your year truck work so I don't know if the cv's are always spinning even in 2wd so I can't answer that.

If that's the case you may not want to drive it like that but again, I'm not sure.

The CV's spin all the time, it's the driveshaft that don't spin in 2wd. Replacement CV's are like $60ish dollars each and aren't too hard to change, or you could just take em off and have a 2wd

I wasn't sure if they did or not. In 04 they used those stupid iwe's so they don't spin while in 2wd.
