What type of bedliner do you like?

Gallon of rustoleum brush-on bed liner. Tough and no-skid. Easy to touch up and repair; every 2 or 3 years, clean it and brush a new coat on. Looks surprisingly good if you are careful to avoid runs.

Just ask me when living in the salt states that people use drop in liners. That's why my 2003 bed floor is rotting away. Spray in is the best bang for buck...

Mine has a Rhino Liner in it. It is a spray in, 1/8" inch thick. I personally like the spray in because they are tough, grip just enough (drop in liners suck for hauling a fridge), and they also dampen road noise.

I have a 25 year old truck that I put a drop in bed liner in when it was new. It has seen 25 very salty winters. I pull the liner out every couple of years to clean under it. There is zero rust. Sure, the paint is worn down to the primer on the high spots.....Someone suggest laying rope in the grooves before putting in a liner to keep the paint wear down. I never bothered with it, though.

I prefer a slick liner so I can slide heavy objects.

The drop in only good for dirt and aggregate for the most part imo. I like a traction surface for holding power, it makes for a lot less load shift. I used a 1" thick rubber mat (heavy biatch! ) for years in truck beds w/ or w/o throw in bed liners. Certain gas cans (5 gal cans) and such will ride on the mat without sliding around and tipping over....small example.

Yup! I'd prefer a sheet of plywood over molded plastic. My truck now has a liner and cap. When the truck's done, they won't be there.

A spray in also won't change shape with the weather.

I just got an 04 heritage and the bed is still the same as the 97-03 correct? the bed has scratches and some rust but the previous owner did patch it and it has a hard cover. But looking to put something in want to use for mulch and hauling furniture or whatever. I like big ed's suggestion of the rustoleum roll on bedliner. Not sure i want to spend $500 for drop in liner this will be an occasional use truck. any ideas? that one on ebay looks good for $73
Thanks

Yes beds the same... not sure where you're looking at drop ins for $500. I paid $175 brand new. Also check out dealer lots or truck shops.... people who get rid of them for something else often leave them with the shop and they either sell cheap or trash (and would gladly take a few bucks for one) of course if that's the route you wanna go
