I'm running JL's in all 4 doors. Very impressed so far. I'll be looking into a single sub just to clean everything up. But I like the JL's or Boston's

Depends on your budget. This question gets asked a lot on this forum, and because we have 5x7/6x8 mounting holes, our choices are somewhat limited. Many here recommend Polk or Infinity. You didn't say what your head unit was - if it was stock, you could go with Rockford Fosgate Primes (I got a super deal on mine - $45 a pair and sound great!).
The cone surrounds on my stock speakers disintegrated (which happens due to the elements....) which forced me to get new ones. Again, it depends on your budget!

I have been looking into a jl audio system for a while to replace my door speakers and i plan on amplifying it. What model speakers do you use?

I use Polk and I like them. They don't have much low, but I added subs so I don't care. Their mids and highs are phenomenal. I do not have them amped though, so I can't help ya there.

Any good 3-way (Polk, Infinity, Boston, Fosgate) would make a slide guitar come to life compared to stock cone speakers.

Same as what I have. Great highs and mids.
