Default What size is my stock alternator??

Hey guys couldn't figure this out anywhere from what I read it should be 95A or 130A.

It's a 2000 F150 XL extended cab.
4.6L V8
It has the towing package

Yea, hard to confirm from the pics. But, being within the time frame that Ford cheaped out on Alternators, I'd say you have a 90 amp small case.

Here, you can check yourself, -

The Red in the pic designates a large case 3G 97-99. Some of these have been found on later models.

These were 130 amps, note, ALL 130 amp large cases produced 160 amps when called upon

The Blue in the pic designates a small case 2G 2000+.

These were 90 amps with a max of 110.

In all likelihood probably 95a especially being an XL. I went ahead and put a 130a in mine because they aren't any more expensive for a reman.

Mine has the 2 holes going around the alternator.

Edit: So I guess I have the 130A

edit 2: phoned the local ford dealership he said this and I quote

"It says 115A, but it's the same as the 130A alternator"

so I guess I have a 130A alt. Hells yes.

Yep, lucky you!

As you probably noticed, in the pic, the 130 and 90 are photo-chopped together.

I just couldn't see the web holes in your pics.

Not sure if he's just clueless or if ford recorded it oddly. Never heard of a 115A stock alt in these trucks.
