I purchased my 01 SCAB and it had the power door lock actuator problem on the passenger door. I did the aluminum foil fix on it and it has been working like a champ for over a month. Only issue is that removing the actuator is similar to berthing a mechanical calf. You end up shoulder deep in the door and there is probably going to be blood involved.

Well I have put on ball joints and shocks and brake cylinders in the back. The previous owner put on new plugs and wires at 125K and I have done all mine stuff since then and I now have 158K on the truck. Still runs great, hope to get many more years out of it. Go Ford or go home is my motto. I have owned f F150's so far and loved every one of them.

Default repairs done and current problems.

98 f150 xlt 4.6l owned since new at 3 miles.
brakes every other year
leaf spring brackets both sides
blower motor resistor
coolant flushes every year
exhaust manifold broken bolts, installed ceramic headers
drive shaft yolk replace and universal

current problems are check engine light on for both banks running lean
- had full tune up, vacuum leak check, mass air flow sensor, fuel pumps and o2 sensors replaced. problem still exists but doesn't affect performance.

coolant over pressurizes, flushed system, including heater core separately replaced thermostat, replaced overflow pressure cap but truck doesn't overheat or anything. currently working on problem.

Actually a month or two ago I fixed the lock too, however when I tried to pull the lock actuator out I broke it, so I went to the junkyard and picked up an older version out of a 97-98. I did a little custom mounting (had to drill one hole) and its been working ever since.
