As teenager I always wanted a muffler with a growl.
Now I know why my father said NO!
As long as you aren't a complete dbag about it loud exhaust is fine

I was considering a flowmaster super 44, but would love opinions and links to videos if anyone has any.
Also should I buy a intake off ebay for like $100 or just do the gotts mod?
Thanks in advanced!
I've always been a fan of no muffler on these trucks if you don't have inspection I recommend trying this instead of dropping money on a muffler

And just do the gotts mod with a good drop in filter it'll save you money and be just as effective as a cold air intake

Disagree you may, but in my state straight pipes only earn you a costly ticket.... 3 tickets earn you a suspended license. Then you can't drive you shiney Mustang, or anything for that matter!
As a police dispatcher, I'm the poor sucker who has to take the complaints by phone and send the COPS to chase them down. Also as a hotrod car owner I have to be very careful where and when I drive it, so there is my logic.

2.5" in/out muffler? And is your single in single out or dual?
I'm 17, I just want a nice sound to my truck. Not to be a kid and annoy people with it. Just know some mufflers can help with hp and mpg correct? But it can also make mpg worse so yeah lol.

I don't think anyone in this thread runs straight pipes. If so, their truck sounds and runs like ***. Unless of course they are tuned to do so. Other than that, your comments don't even apply.

These trucks run a 4 cat system and aren't THAT loud without a muffler. You can run it that way and be within programmed parameters as far CARB/NOX. In other words, these vehicles have 4 mufflers ahead of the rear and in the Y. However, what you loose is just a little torque, with the factory tune.

But yea, if your a complete idiot revving the snot out it in place, that would get old for anyone attempting to put up with it.

For your truck, you will need a 2.50" offset in/2.50" offset out muffler. If you are looking for a deeper tone with a mild exhaust note, check out a Flowmaster 70 Series muffler. A Flowmaster Super 50 Series muffler would also be a great choice for your F-150 if you want to achieve a moderately aggressive sound.

If you want real loud, flowmaster 10. Loud is a 40,milder is 44 and like the flowmaster guy said 50 and 70 are pretty mild with a mean tone. Personally I'd never run anything more mild than a 40
