Default What kind of muffler to buy?

I have a 2000 F150 4.6 4x4. I want to know what kind of muffler to buy and what the size in/out my exhaust is? (Don't know if I worded that correctly.. I'm 17 so give me a break lol)
I was considering a flowmaster super 44, but would love opinions and links to videos if anyone has any.
Also should I buy a intake off ebay for like $100 or just do the gotts mod?
Thanks in advanced!

That Flowmaster is chambered, not ideal for flow. If you absolutly want a Flowmaster, go for their Newer Laramie strait thru design.

I'll give yuh a break, - perhaps someone will post the Exhaust sound thread or you can search it out on this site...it's somewhere.

PLEASE, be kind to all of us who have to drive, or live near you,
BUY A QUIET MUFFLER
As teenager I always wanted a muffler with a growl.
Now I know why my father said NO!

I will have to disagree The first thing I did to my 06 mustang gt was to ditch the mufflers and run strait pipe. And it has been a long long time scence I was 17

If you like loud exhaust consider mufflers like Magnaflow 14 inch, flowmaster 40,44, 10 series, and glass packs. There are a bunch of loud mufflers out there. Glasspack mufflers are pretty cheap too. Depending on the length of the glasspack you get the louder it will be. The shorter means it will be louder. For mild and mellow, go with Magnaflow 18 inch or Flowmaster 50 series. I personally am Magnaflow person just for the fact that their mufflers reduce restriction and increase power a bit. I noticed I had a little more power going up hills with my Magnaflow #13288. But it's all in your preference my friend and budget.

Look up 3" cat back systems. Those will improve performance from factory motor to slightly modified. Troyer sells those systems for the F150's and Expeditions. That's IF Troyer is still around, - he's been MIA for awhile now.

I wanted one... Then I figured out that you really can't sneak in or out of the driveway.... Or sneak up on deer.
