Well she was. Not so good news today, currently sitting at an autozone about an hour from home with the cylinder 4 plug and coil in hand. I didn't take it out with tools...

First time or is it a failed repair? If it's the former get a timesert and keep her alive! If it's the latter just get a bigger timesert lol

Probably will do that, just trying to figure out how to get her home now. Can probably borrow a trailer from work, and my dads truck. Plugs last two threads are buggered up, but doesn't look like there is any aluminum on em.

Get a bolt with the same pitch and size and drive it home... or try and thread a new plug. I had mine blow one out, never found the plug, it destroyed the cop, but I put in a new one and it's still there 8k miles later. Dont forget to unhook the injector if you do the first thing.

Exactly! Use a real torque wrench, not a calibrated elbow.

Looks great 02, I don't think I've seen that exhaust hanger bracket separated from one of these trucks before. They usually rust pretty bad back there, wouldn't dare attempt taking a wrench to it....snap! lol.

What's up with the axles, the bearings chew them up a bit ?

I like the concept, but that's right where I rest my right hand while driving. I keep contemplating an Expy steering wheel for heat and controls. I just haven't been able to justify the cost and effort. (I also haven't seen good confirmation it will work and a write up to reference yet.)
