I gotcha. I'll have to keep an eye out for your build when you get going.

I may even go custom. I'm undecided. I'll figure it out eventually. I still need to get it torn down.

Yep.
Pretty easy to force that slider open to gain access.

Gotta smash mine to get it open. The PO sealed it shut, I'd like a new back window.

That's smart with the magnetic strike. How did you tap into the alarm?

If it wasn't such a PITA, I'd probably swap in the solid window from my '99, since I can't recall any time I'd ever wished for a slider in the ten years of driving that truck. I don't want to go through the hassle, though.

The switch closes when the magnet moves away, grounding an input on the alarm and setting it off. Works just like a hood/pin switch.

Yeah, my 03 had the solid rear and I liked it much better.

Makes sense on the switch. Smart thought on the mod.

I took the headerpanel off, and replaced it and reinstalled the grill that I painted black and the surround. I bought it and it was ****ty chromed out. Sourcing headlights still...

Before

Middle with everything off. (The PO hit something in the grill, breaking it and the headerpanel and putting that dent in the hood. )
In case you haven't seen my thead, I'm in the process of getting rid of the ugly chrome wheels and accents and making it look better. Don't judge yet. lol
