Changed the engine oil and filter.
Havoline High Mileage 5w-20 and a ST2 filter.
Total cost, $3.

I still want to slap the people that put the oil filter where it is at. Why do only 4wd models get the filter relocation?

Personally, I trust new oil vs high mileage. What kind of filter is a ST2 ? What are doing to your truck blup.

Right , those remote systems are great. You could go rob one off a JY truck. Have you looked ?

ST2 = Supertech filter from Walmart. made by Wix, equal to a Napa Pro-select or an O'Reilly Microguard filter.
Cost like $2.75 for the filter. Oil was free due to a Amazon product description error. I ordered 3 5 qt jugs, they sent me 6 1 qt bottles. I told them of the error, they said they would send me 9 more 1 qt bottles (15 qts). I again received another 6 1 qt bottles. Contacted them again, they said it was an error on the site and the product was taken down till they could fix it, and in the mean time, I could just keep what they had sent at no charge.

I have not looked, nor even been to a junkyard in about 5 years, not worth the hassle. Maybe one day if I every get around to going to one I may look. I have a small list of things to look for if I do (license plate light, seat mount cover for back seat, filter relocation kit, seems a few other thing as well).

That should be a pretty cool build. You definitely made great power out of the 2v so the 4v should be a great NA power plant.

On my truck I don't have any issues where the oil filter is in the side of the block. It's easy to get to and doesn't make much mess.

I'm sure. Hopefully wont have to be pushed as hard to make similar power. All I know is 4v parts are pricey

What is this relocation of which you speak? Mine is screwed on at the side of the block.

Im not sure I trust the ST filters. Yes, they may be made by Wix today, but the could change tomorrow, as could the construction/specs. WM can change vendors on a whim with no indication that the product itself is now different. Only Motorcraft filters for me.
