Hey I know this is completely off topic but do you know if the Motorcraft sp479 spark plugs will work with a non pi motor? On advance autos website it says they don't fit a 97 but say they fit the 99-03. And it says that the Motorcraft sp459 spark plugs fit a 97.

Which one should I get? They're both the same exact specs except 479 is a platinum iridium plug and 459 is a FineWire single platinum plug.

Sp-479 is the update part number with a nickel coated base.

So then it will still work then? What was the reason for them to change it? The nickel coating is on the threads to prevent the need for anti seize right?

Its actually to prevent corrosion so the proper torque spec on the plugs can be achieved dry. So no plugs get spit out in the newer trucks.

I thought that was the glovebox but then, quoting my dad on 5.5's, "only truck I knows with 2 gloveboxes"
