Could be EGR related, but it wouldn't want to do anything right, no matter the rpm. It would idle goofy as well. Other than that, bad cats will definitely make them run that way....just like that.

Slap a pressure gauge on rail and try to accelerate. See what that does. At this point I'd be leaning towards the fuel pickup being clogged or water got into the tank.

The methyl hydrate seems to have worked wonders, so I'm thinking and hoping water. I have an appointment for the 11th, I'll keep it for now and cancel it a few days ahead if the truck at least goes back to only a slight lag, which she's had for some time with no noticeable worsening

keep us posted. Definitely seems like the time I had water in the tank. So hopefully that's the case

I'm hoping so. And feeling better since truck still seems to be improving slowly. I was getting worried when she was popping the same way as when the fuel pump went, but hasn't for a while now.

the ABS is also acting up a little, so keeping an eye on that too.

Removed and resealed the rear window - YAY! - no more accusing the dog of peeing in the truck.

I was checking the lights prior to safety inspection - propped a 2x4 on the brake pedal so i could go out back and see if the lights were on - brake pedal went to the floor - puddle under truck.

Having no brakes makes for an exciting drive back into the garage for a brake line repair.

Better than an exciting drive downhill toward a busy intersection!
Glad it happened in the driveway.
