Mud tires if you're in it regularly, but I think I'd throw a set of these in the bed for the occasional/unexpected cases.

I spend a lot of time in the dirt and so far Ive been able to gas out of it when it gets sticky with these tires. With close to 70k miles on them they dont grip like they used to though.

Those cheap plastic things are the worst. If you're going to do it, get MaxTrax. We have two sets (4) and they've been amazing. It's gotten me out of everything I've ever been in. I even climbed out of an icy ditch in my wife's all seasoned tire Grand Cherokee. Nothing that small is going to have enough bite in the ground to move your vehicle, they'll just slip right out from under the tire.

I hunt in the back country that mud during elk season was sticky and wouldn't excavate unless I was full throttle. (General AT2) I've never really been stuck in the truck so bad that I had no other recourse but I've pulled them out to make quick work of getting unstuck. I could have rocked and throttled the truck but it was much nicer to just get out, lay them out and go.

Lol, breaking through the sod like that can be like getting stuck in super glue...mo power mo power... ah frigit.

Spare tire winch can back you out a little...and maybe.

BTW- logs in front of tires only works if your running beaver claws.

$300! Wow! But I suppose if they work (and last), they're worth the coin.

Wolvee, I think those would be a great investment for my line of work. I had to wait on a pull and was pretty lucky he had a strap to hook to mine or he would have been in the same mess I was. Honestly I would look into a winch but I don't think it will mount right with my body lift.

Jbrew, I was in a bad spot sitting on my hands so I figured I might as well give it a try. Lol I definitely tried the skinny pedal, skinny pedal, damn it method first though.
