Past owner did a crappy solid axle conversion so I’m fixing everything that was done. Right now Ive got new leaf spring hangers waiting to be welded to the rear to get rid of the dual link setup and once that is done I also have to remake the bumper mounts to go around the new hanger. Then after that the list goes on and on.

Now that sounds like one hell of project. Good luck.

threw in 8 oz of BG EPR. Running it for two days, or all week, and changing saturday. Unfortunately I realized afterwards that i only have 2500 on the oil!!!
I ran it last oil change and man did it fix my oil consumption. I normally don't believe in additives.

HERE is the stuff. I'm usually hesitant to use stuff like this on any high-mileage engine, for fear of actually making oil consumption worse. I did, though, use something years ago in another vehicle that my local NAPA recommended to quiet noisy lifters, which worked wonderfully.

agreed. Learned about it at Bob Is the Oil Guy.
and since I have had the truck since she was 1 year old and know she has had great OCIs I wasn't worried.

I found it cheapest on ebay, forget what I paid for a quart but I just looked now and man they raised the prices.

Got the new transmission installed today and everything put back in it's place. Took a short test drive and the difference is amazing!

Today I got a new shift cable and shift indicator bracket installed. I also had my teenage sons drain and fill the transfer case. It certainly needed it! The fluid wasn't even red anymore!
