What did you do to your 10th gen today?

Yea, your pics display the common downfall with them. I'm not even sure IF you can prevent the dry rot with the original type material...slow up their demise maybe. As your probably aware, it's not easy to find a weathered set in good condition.
I might of missed it, but did you use a alternate leather material or is it pretty much the same as original ?

According to my guy at the dealership, they do make a treatment to put on them but all it does is slow the breakdown. There is also an oil that you can put on them to keep them soft. I really didn’t want to go through all of that on a regular basis. I went with a standard car leather. It’s really nice. The guys at lseat.com did a killer job on these.

GO SOX!
Leather is like our own skin. It needs moisture (and proper cleaning) , or it will deteriorate. Since it's no longer alive, it can't produce its own, so it's up to us to provide it. If you want your new (and I assume not inexpensive) seat covers you last, I'd suggest you consider a saddle soap and mink oil regimen or use Lexol cleaner and conditioner products.

Replaced the battery after it shorted out. Weird, would only short out under load.

Wishful thinking I guess.
Can't wait to see it when she's done.
I started the old beast today. Man I can't wait to get this thing back on the road. At least it's safe from the elements until spring. Attachment 541500

Sigh not today but the other day I noticed someone finally kicked thru the Rust on the passenger side rocker. Bout a 4" Long 1/4" wide slit... added to the half dollar size hole on the bottom of the rocker and silver dollar sized Rust bubble on the driver rear door.
