The best part is that you can get rid of those damn rattling headrests.

Still open to any suggestions on additional mods!
I bought an overhead console like the one pictured below, disassembled the aftermarket control piece, and wired up the console switches to the control. It now lives inside the console. If you decide to do this, you'll need the factory mounting bracket as well. I was lucky the seller of mine had it, and sent it along.

HERE are some pics from my build thread.

I'm sure they'll be wearing over time.

I like the raw hide material that was on them but it's a bear to keep up with. My buddy is a GM at a Ford Dealership. He said people loved it but all they did was complain when it didn't hold up over time. They were supposed to be the parchment color with red stitching and accents as well as having LARIAT embroidered in the back instead of KR...details lol I still couldn't be happier and it just means I'll be touching up a few things with darker accents to tie it all together. No biggie.

The Rockies are the most comfortable boot I wear. But man, with that the soles wear quickly. Once they develop that squeak walk(irritating),soles are about trashed anyway... time for a new set .Feet are never cold in that boot, some sweating, but not that bad really.
The Wings last a lot longer, miles longer in the sole. Unfortunately, not as comfortable. I get that arthritis crap in the feet an toes. Sucks, but comfy is priority now a days.

Haven't tried another brand, Rockies and Red Wings is the extent...I'd gladly pay for better/quality.

Yea, your pics display the common downfall with them. I'm not even sure IF you can prevent the dry rot with the original type material...slow up their demise maybe. As your probably aware, it's not easy to find a weathered set in good condition.

I might of missed it, but did you use a alternate leather material or is it pretty much the same as original ?
