What did you do to your 10th gen today?
Man what a long day. Got the bed pulled, sanded and painted the bottom of the bed, por-15'ed all the common rust areas that are prone to collect moisture. This truck has zero rust I just don't want it to start. Wetsanded the back of the cab, buffed, polished and waxed, painted the top part of the frame you can't see with the bed on, replaced all the fuel vapor hoses, replaced the main fuel tank hose. Now all that's left is fix a dent in the front of the bed and put it back together.

I know about overfilling and how it's bad, but everything I read online said 6 to 6.5 quarts and mine to 6.5 before it hit the top of the hatch. But, that's good to know, ill keep it in between the hashed line next time. I'll drain half a quart out of it and leave it at 6 for now. I'd rather not damage the motor considering it has less than 10k miles on it.
Capacity didn't change until the 11th gens. Some gen 11's from 04 plus use 7 quarts standard..all 3 valves anyway.
In the past and because running these engines over filled has proved an early demise (from frothing the oil and causing the mains to periodically go dry, -along with blowing the head gaskets) guys have scribed their own hash mark at 6 quarts right after changing.
Your actually better off running these engines a quart low vs overfilling.
Overfilling is hard on them, wears them out before their time. This occurs more frequently in these trucks because of the way Ford set up the dip sticks. When folks try to ride the top hash line which is already overfilled, they often go beyond that attempting to keep it there.
That's the deal with that. Just use the owners manual when in doubt...stick to it

And it might of still been running with mine , pushing 350,000 miles and still running strong...no leaks and doesn't use oil MOST of the time (I've caught it using oil twice over last winter, that's new, but it hasn't done so since)
I think it makes a difference if you had the vehicle since new as well lol.

Hi Blup! I don't know about the "as bright as possible" part. Man that's annoying. But I know what you saying. Rubbing out practical for that coolness affect.
Some smoked heads, when done a certain way maintain proper illumination while others are ridicules....like those totally blacked out tails. I'm not sure if led's could counter that. That may depend on the reflector and tint I expect. I've seen tails that looked as though they used a can of barbecue black SP. Crazy and illegal most likley.

Stock housings with good Halogen bulbs can have good output, put in some clear lens housings with good halogen and you have really good output (for halogen) that does not blind oncoming drivers.
Throw some LED or PnP HID in there (which put out less lumens) and yeah, it blinds oncoming traffic.
I don't remember who it was that did a HID projector retrofit with the more expensive D2S system that gives amazing, focused lighting, then tinted the headlights really dark.
GO SOX!
