Got to hear my truck fire up for the first time today. Used carb cleaner and it fired right up. Funny thing is, a couple of hours later. Thought I will see if the fuel pump works this time? Hit the starter and it fired up and went dead. Guess there was enough vapors from the carb cleaner in there to fire it off.
Will order a new pump kit from Rockauto Monday. Along with upper and lower ball joints. Going to do the front end while I'm at it. I know the truck will never bring what I will have in it when finished. But building it to keep until I die or it trashed .. I figure with my luck the truck will be in great shape. After I pass away.

Yeh the vapors will do that. Be careful what pump you go with. Some parts it's better to pay a bit more for.

It did make me smile when it fired off.

Any ideal what brand of pump last the longest? Would rather pay more and have a good one. Than buy the $12.95 special and it fail in 12 months..

Of course OEM is best but you would be more than alright with Bosch, Denso, or Delphi.

That's great man. Take care of that truck, I'm really glad to see you put that work into her. Very nice truck.

Fuel pump fuse was blown. Figure it popped when the fuel pump first tried to pump and was locked up. Replaced it and turned it over a few times. Never did hear the pump working.
Like one line having all the stuff on the engine other then the cover over the Throttle body. And its from the drivers side valve cover to the intake deal. And for the life of me can't find the rubber pipe and nipple that fits on that pipe.
