2003 4r70w 2x4
So the transmission when put to drive won't engage
reverse works not drive. Weirdly once it engaged and it shifted and everything so it isnt the clutch burnt or anything it shifted fine but then it never re engaged. Can anyone help me find the issue we changed the neutral safety switch thinking it was that and it wasn't. Please help

 

Welcome to the forum. How much mileage? Has the transmission ever been serviced? Have you checked the fluid level? Have you scanned your vehicle for any DTCs?

 

160 000 km and i have scanned it nothing pops up no check engine nothing the transmission oil is redish brown so it isnt burnt

I had an issue where my truck occasionally wouldn't go all the way into Park because the shifter was loose. Crawled under the dash, tightened it up, been good as new ever since.

 

Yeah no it goes in to park fine and reverse fine linkage isn't loose cause it clicks through p to 1 just fine
