Default Water Pump...MUST see!

Had this truck a while...have had little to no heat. Recently the Normal operating temp has been slowly getting higher and higher. Inspected system, decided that as the truck is 21 years old I'd replaced Radiator, T-stat and Water pump. Draining took forever thru the drain ****. (glad I ordered a radiator) Everything else went as I figured...until.

Took the water pump off, now I've HEARD that this can happen but have never seen with my own eyes!!

Dont neglect your cooling systems folks!!! Thankfully I never overheated!!!

No offense intended but are you saying that you did neglect your cooling system, for 21 years? Can you give some details on engine, usage, mileage?

For what it's worth, I neglected the cooling system on a Nissan 3.0 engine for 19 years and 260,000 miles. Things happen.

None taken!
I have only had the truck about 3 or 4 years....The Coolant appears to have been orange and yes for the time I had it I didnt flush or anything. The truck has over 300K on it and I bought it around 165K
From what I can tell the radiator, water pump (or saw haha) look to be originals. Once I get it all back together I'm flushing more and using the yellow coolant and intent to flush and refil again after summer (IF I still have it by then)

Thanks for the reply. Which engine? Which year? For the record. 300K is a lot for any engine.

Throw a few gobs of weld or jb-weld on there and send it!

That's nuts! lol Amazed that the shaft didn't leak before this started happening.
