Default Washing machine noise

I'm getting a washing machine noise from the rear of my 97 f150. It starts at around 20 mph and continues up to highway speed. I checked the diff and had to add a quart of fluid. I am running some nexxen rodians with an aggressive tread. I'm hoping I'm not about to drop some cash on a new rear end

Check the u-joint by the pinion.... with the driveline OUT of the truck.

I had the same problem and was about to rebuild the differential. Like I has the entire kit ready the cover off and fluid completely drained and then I happened to look over and the spring for the emergency brake assembly broke and was between the caliper and the dust shield and actually broke the metal ring around the axle hub where the wheels go onto the lugs and sounded like nuts and bolts in a washing machine. Be sure to check that and the u-joint but be sure to take the driveshaft off.
