Is it the same transmission all around? Can't seem the find the information about 4r70w differences.

I will try to slide the tranny back far enough to work the tc tomorrow. Like w0lves said, it's the only thing left.

That was a big pain for nothing. About to cut my loses and scrap it. Tc was done right. Wiring issues with the truck harness a possibility?

I told you to bring it to the dealer or borrow a Scantool. I don't know why you much prefer doing it the hard way. You can even command a shift. Is the Overdrive switch working? You can also check pending DTC which will give you a clue what 's wrong. Before you can see the DTC the tranny needs to fail 4 Consecutive times for a Generic Scantool to read the codes.

Check if Transmission Range Sensor is not Defective. The engine should only start on Park and Neutral.

I did hook it to a scan tool and I really don't have the money for help. I did hook it to a scan tool. But the guy only had a chip for up to 97. Yes The o/d light will go on and off.

Recent discovery. The same not wanting to go and binding action will happen in first gear without the transmission main plug connected

It's very cheap to have that diagnosed.. You got 2 connectors right? Are they both not working? Have you tried asking the dealer?

Are you sure the shift is not delayed? If the ECT or tranny fluid temp sensor are faulty the shift will be delayed.

Can you post a video showing the speed and RPM with overdrive on/off also include gear 1 & 2. Make sure there is no dirt prevents the TB from closing the Butterfly plate on full close position.

Not sure what you mean by two connectors. I will try to get a video going this afternoon. I can't go any faster than 1st gear will allow me. It studders when trying to drive in 2nd and too much throttle makes the tires lockup

From what I've read...to put a 98 4r70w in a 99 you need to use the 99 valve body and in trans harness. I think I am fighting and issue with the truck
