Question Turn Signal Switch

I need to replace my turn signal switch/lever arm, does anyone know the part number or can you confirm the number I've found?

Motorcraft SW5580

There are a lot of options in part numbers and brands but I want the best ones, has anyone here replaced theirs and which did you go with?

Rock Auto has 5 different switches, two of which say Lariat specifically.

If you search for the part number of that switch above you can find it but it's not even listed under switches that work in the group of 5. (When searching by year make and model.)

Default Turn Signal Switch

The one for 83.79 will fit and work just right. The two higher priced ones are just more due to being hd. I feel like river1 or rusty1971 just did this repair too.

What do you mean? The link works, you just have to wait for their convoluted catalog system to file down.

Your right it works now. Huh, it didn't last night or earlier this morning. I got the Rock site, but it said error. Yea that's the first time I've seen that happen in that way. But before, if you were to link a RA catalog page, users who hit the link just got the site and not the catalog specific page...know what I mean ? It's been that way for awhile, but no more it seems. I got the catalog page this time.

See, -I looked into that in the past, thinking it was the web browser blocking parts of the Rock site...Nope, it was the site itself.

Their site is pretty odd but I guess it's works well enough most of the time. I should be happy it's not like the O'reilly's site. That site is a cluster. lol

I believe I got mine on ebay for about 30$ as well, but if you are having issues with the turn signals check the fuse under the steering colum , I ended up only needing the fuse but didn't know it until after I replaced the turn signal lever, overall an easy job to do

I ended up spending the $80 for the Ford Part (BWD actually). While I would have prefered to only spend $30 my brain hurts to think about every time I bought a part because it was cheaper and ended up having to replace it. Sometimes they made matters worse.

While I know many people have probably bought the $30 part, I didn't want to risk it. Sometimes I'm on the winning end of value, sometimes I'm not but I am confident it will work if I buy quality branded parts the first time.

Gratuitous picture of the new lever.
