Default 4 wheel drive not working.

One day I just tested the 4 wheel drive after the winter and it did not engage. Any ideas?

check all your fuses to make sure that system has power. Can you hear the transfer case motor moving? If not check the solenoids and relays. Usually from reading other threads it's a power issue. If that is not the case and the electrical compents are working, check for vaccum and check the vaccum lines. I'm not sure if vaccum pulls in the hubs or realeases it but you should see a change either way. And keep in mind that if one side of the "hub" is bad you won't have 4 wheel drive. Depending on mechanical you are you can order the full repair and trouble shooting guides thru www.helm.com They provide Ford dealers with their shop repair manualls and diagrams. Hope this helps. I personally haven't had this problem with my truck yet so I don't know the system very well yet. Try this thread it may help.
