Default A/c--vac problem

Ive got a 98f150 5.4 4wd. When i got it the A/c didnt work bad comp well it wasnt a big deal B/c it wasnt hot yet since it gettin warm i got it workin just recently (for the wife and kid) well we went for a ride in it yesterday First time using a/c. It works great but after a min of driving it stops blowing out the panel and shifts to the defrost
(while still blowing cool so it seems) Let off the gas and it shifts back to panel after a sec, ease back on the gas and start crusing for a min and it does it agian.
Anybody have this problem hopefully its a quick easy(cheap fix)
It seems like it loosin vac and going back to "its resting position"
Ive checked the vac lines and they look fine as far as i can tell

You have a vacuum leak because it is defaulting to defrost.
