Default truck won't start???

the other day my 1999 F150 5.4L wouldn't start, if wouldn't even turn over. it hadn't been running fine and when i tried to start it, a loud click would come from tr solenoid switch. so i changed it, and the truck still wouldn't start. tried to jump the solenoid and nothing, no turn over. changed the starter and when turning the key it still won't start, or turn over. if i jump the solenoid it'll start, but the starter will get VERY hot. i've checked wiring all the way around, checked relays, and fuses, but i have no earthly idea what's causing this problem.

The starter gets very hot just turning the engine over? If so take a look at the starter, sounds like it's binding up, bad bearings maybe.

If it starts when you jump the solenoid then the solenoid is either bad or not getting the signal to close. usually clicking indicates it's getting the signal. Put a meter on the terminals your shorting to make it turn over and hit the key, you SHOULD have 12v before the key is turned and 0v when in the start position
