Default Truck cranks, no spark.

So, many of you are familiar with my woes with my 2001 F150 over the past year. I just had a remanned 5.4 put in last summer. Well, she's been running smooth as can be and everything has been pretty great since they put the second reman in, no leaks except for the bad intake manifold (thanks Ford for the plastic garbage).

Back to the point. Sunday I drove my truck to the gas station and filled up, then went to a meeting at our church, and then home. Both times it cranked up just fine and ran great (no misfires or stutter). Once I got home, I shut it down for the night and got up the next morning to go to the gym, the truck kept turning as thought it was trying to start but it would never fire up. These are what I've checked off as good to go.

1. Fuel pump is operational.
2. Fuel filter is clear.
3. Fuel rail has pressure
4. All fuses and relays check out good
5. Coils have no spark.
6. Crankshaft sensor is plugged, seems good
7. No codes

What could be causing my brand new coils (well less than a year old anyway) and plugs to suddenly not be getting spark when they did the night before? Is there anything behind the dash (I had smacked it to get the odometer on, fuel mileage) that could be interrupting the ignition process?

Check to make sure your crank position sensor is still plugged in. I've seen mechanics break those (they get really brittle over time) and then they will wiggle back off the sensor eventually.

Forgot to put that I checked that as well, unless the sensor is bad it's plugged with good connection. I'm stumped that there are no codes.

if you're crankshaft position sensor is bad you should be getting a p0335 or p0336 code

Thanks guys, I'll try replacing the sensor, since it isn't too expensive, and go from there. Going to be a couple weeks before I can though.

Well, it's not the crankshaft position sensor. Put a brand new one one, still cranks, no spark and no start. What a POS this truck has turned out to be. I've always been a die hard Ford driver but I'm about to switch to Toyota. This F150 has been one mega PITA this past couple of years.

You should buy a newer ford you can justify the money for. The best f150 you can get is a 12th gen ('09-'14) with a 6.2 and 6 sp transmission. The 6.2 wasn't available until 2011. '09-'10 f150s were solid trucks too

If I was in a position to buy a new truck I would. This is the first Ford truck I've ever had this many problems with.

Have you done anything to it lately.... the only other thing I can think of it maybe the knock sensor has come unplugged/gone bad?
