Default Transmission Use

I have a 2002 automatic and I've done some research and I'm pretty sure it's got the 4r70w tranny. My question is if this transmission will hookup to a 302? I didn't find anything online about it but I'm going to keep looking. Any help would be great

Ok found out that they do hookup. My next question is if I can keep the electronics to the transmission while running a carbureted engine? If I can it will make life a lot simpler for this swap

I believe you can. I have a buddy that had done the same thing. Dk if it's the same engine or not, but I know it's a bigger one and it's works perfect with the tranny, I'll find out for sure what engine

Ok thanks. I think I can make it work and can reuse the whole drivetrain after the engine which is a big money saver

Yeah I know. I'm just going to do a budget build on the engine at first and slowly build it up over time. Just want to get it in the truck first

I have a pretty nasty roller 351w motor sitting on the stand I've often wondered about swapping. I would keep it efi, but those motors seem to last better than the mods do...

I just like how a carbureted engine you can work on yourself. The new ones have way to many wires to do anything yourself. Plus it adds to the uniqueness of my truck and I love the old carbureted engines. After quite a bit of research online I found that I can swap the motor in with the same tranny if I get a certain harness. It sounds simple enough. Just have to start saving now
