What kind of noise? It could be the throw out bearing if you did the clutch? Look up throw out bearing noise on youtube and you'll get an idea if that's your issue. They can also growl, my old truck did that when the throw out bearing seized up. It would growl under hard acceleration and when taking off.

i replaced this back in december when i replaced the clutch. but like you i do hear noise but mostly in 4th gear and when it is in a strain. second gear is not as bad though

Throw out bearing could not be seated correctly or it's a faulty part... Maybe record it making the noise and post it up here? I could tell you right away if its that throw out bearing if I heard it.
