Default trans problems :(

had a new trans put in and was rebuilt so its supposed to work and went to start it.. first it didnt start guessing not a good ground on the starter but not sure why the trans wouldnt go into gear? anybody have an idea? been working on it for awhile and would really like to have it running again as quick as possible

Complete guess on my part, but could the shifter be locking up b/c the brake pedal must pressed? Im not sure how this system works but i know mine wont go out of park unless my foots on the brake. Maybe this wasnt hooked up correctly or something.

well it goes out of park on the column and everything but it doesnt engage into gear?

It's your linkage. It's not set right. You have to play with it til ya get it right. All I know to do. I had to do it with my Lincoln truck when I replaced the frame. You can do it by yourself but easier if you have one person in the truck and you adjust the linkage underneath. Set the emergency brake so ya don't get ran over.
