Default Trans mount replacement

I know this should be easy but hoping to get some reassurance. I am at 250ish thousand miles on the stock worn out mount.

is it as easy as supporting the t-case and pulling a couple bolts?

Yes, I did mine a couple years ago. It's Easy money. I think I has to slide the crossmember back a couple inches on my Supercrew but there was nothing notable about it all.

Looks to me like the hardest part is figuring out if I want to use my Earthquake impact or my Dewalt impact, LOL.

Except you can't use an impact on most of those bolts, just the two mount bolts. The rest of it's grunt work. Ratchet wrench or air ratchet once you get them loose. A little more time consuming is all.

Thanks for the info y'all. Glad I didn't break out the impact before I read that because I definitely thought about it.

Yea , the 6 bolt heads on each side of the support are locked into the frame rail on the outside. You have to get them from inside...no room for an impact.

The Ford procedure is to support under the engine oil pan. But you have to span the pan so you don't cave it in, crush it. I support the transfer case as well, but it isn't easy to support back there. Two floor jacks work best.

Anyway, it's all in the manual if someone would post the procedure for yuh. But yea, you can use an impact for all of 30 seconds to remove the 2 mount nuts, I do , it's not a big deal to grab the impact.

I looked at it and thought my stubby impact might fit. Maybe I'm dreaming.

Is there a video for doing this?
