Default Traction spray?

These running boards get quite slick when wet. I thought I could coat them with some sort of traction spray but I'm not finding anything that looks good. Anyone here ever used an anti-slip/traction paint they'd recommend?

I don't know of a traction spray but on my wife's old van the boards were slick and she put some narrow, self adhesive, stair treads to the top ridges of the running boards. She cur them to fit the boards and they looked very stock.
What she got was something like
this this
but I don't know if it is the same stuff.

There are also paints with sand in it to give grip.

That black non-slip tape it's like adhesive sandpaper. You can get it at home Depot or Lowe's. I've got it on my boat trailer tongue and fenders where I step. It's amazing how many times I busted my *** and hurt myself before I finally put it there.

That's a good idea if it will stick to the plastic.

Some of the truck bed coatings are rough. I don't know if it would stick to the running boards.

Do you use a renewing product or something like armor all once awhile ? Seems strange they get that slick. You may want try giving them a brush scrub with dish soap in case they're just embedded or loaded up with contaminates. Causing that slippery when wet situation. Just a thought.

I never have but the PO may have, so I'll try that. They are like oiled ice with snowy boots. My son and I both bit it out in the snow.

It's worth a shot. Specially if at some point in time quick wax or detailer spray was used on the body. The over spray from that could most definitely make them slick when wet. Dish soap should cut right threw it with a little agitation.

Dish soap may make them look weathered and dried out. If that occures, Armoral All foam tire cleaner should bring them back to their original look. It's good for that on tires and plastic. No oils in that stuff.
