Default Tow Hooks

Can I install tow hooks on a 2wd 2001? Is there a spot for them on the frame?

Yup, grab some tow hooks, remove your valance, grab some c clamps, attach where you want them, and weld away. Then cut out where the tow hooks come through and reattach your valance, done.

Not recommended to weld them on.

Only bolted. Two holes in the frame and the bolts are welded to a small metal insert that goes into the frame and drops out the holes, then you just run the nuts onto the bolts to sandwich the hooks on.

I went out and pulled some tow hooks and their brackets off of a trashed Expedition today, how far back on the frame should I drill the holes for the bolts?

Put the hooks up there and see where you want them?
