Torsion Keys cranking??
Ive search and read all over about in a f150 4x4 cranking front torsion for more lift. all great know how to do it but....
Not doing it before...how far is TOO FAR? do you just end up turning bolts all the way in or how to you know when you have maximized crank so you dont OVERCRANK EM!!??
Silly I know but never did it before and every says crank em up....well whats UP..till they :"STOP"??

I think the magic number is 24 1/2 inches from the fender to the center of the wheel, don't crank the bolts tight leave a thread or two exposed incase you need to adjust something later on just be sure to go the same on both sides, for instance I have one thread on one side and three on the other but am perfectly level

You can bury the bolts into the cross member if you want that's the only way i can get it to set level. its when you go with aftermarket keys is when you need to worry about over cranking them. cranking them anything over stock is going to wear balljoints faster but its not going to be that bad.

ok. So Ok as I thought. the bolts will eventually be screwed all the way in and then shes topped out. It seems thats ok. BUT if I was to go for the aftermarket keys then I would have to be carefull.
Thats sorta what I thought from the posts I searched. I just want to max out whats there as I heard mixed review about the aftermarket keys. plus I know with anytruck you go too high to wear those balljoints and cv's.
Do you just block the rear 2" if need be? Cool.
Appreciate it gentlemen.
I want the mrs to need a damn step ladder!! LOL

2" block is stock. You wont be able to over crank and be level with a 4" equivalent block size in the rear. I'm running ready lift keys, 7700 torsion bars, 7700 2wd rear leaf springs, and a 3.25" block and my truck is only level when towing. Now once I replace my upper and loer balljoints, and replace the TB again I'll be able to be level. Which is about 3.5" over stock. Here is a leveled pic with 295/75R16's.

Im sitting level now but I should plan on 4: blocks for back. As far as I know shes bone stock and PO has not cranked them so hoping for a lil more lift.
Thank you all. NEW tires so dont want to screw them up.!!

If you are sitting level your tosion bars have been cranked or your springs are starting to sag. I can tell you with cranked stock keys and a 4" block you will not be level. Just measure from the fender flare to the middle of the hub and see where its sitting. 23" is factory settings. If its over 23.5" its has been cranked previously. I have seen tire shop crank them when on a alignment rack to fix bumper steer issues, along with trouble with bouncing toe.
