Tires

Looked but couldnt find my exact anwser...What would be the best all around tire for me...I still have the 17" rims and am keeping those..i found 285x70rx17 bfg at's for 288 a tire...any suggestions on other tires i should look at?

I replaced my BFG at's with Hankook Dynapro ATm's on my old truck and I absolutely love them! I never had issues with the BFG's, but I'll buy Hankook's before I buy BFG's again. They are cheaper, ride better, wear better, grip better in the dry, rain, and snow. I'm going to be buying a set for my F-150 in a couple months. The Hankooks make a little bit more noise, but I only noticed it for about 5 minutes after driving away from the tire shop and then I forgot about it. It's not really noticeable.

I bought firestone destination at and have been very happy with them. They look good and I paid $700 out the door for them. They may not last 100k miles like bfgs but at almost half the price I'd rather buy new ones in 50k miles

I'm currently running firestone destinations also, but they are very low on tread. With that being said, I still get decent traction in snow with probably close to 5/32 or lower left on them. I haven't gotten the chance to use them in mud yet, but I would be pretty worried.

When I do end up getting new shoes, I am going to get general grabber at2s. they are pretty cheap and have great tread and i have heard only good things about them.

I just put Good Year Wrangler AT/S from Sears on my 03 F150 FX4 for $167/tire. Also 17's

what size are those good years?

265/70/17.

They're pretty quiet and have a ton of grip. I haven't had them off road yet, but the tread pattern seems aggressive enough. I run 17in BF Goodrich G-Force Sports on my Saab 9-3 in the summer and 16in Good Year Eagle Ultra Grips in the winter.

Although as mild as this winter has been, I'm probably shredding the Ultra Grips.

Yeah i might look into those but as a 285/70r/17 or a 33x11 i think

Just bought the Cooper Discover AT3's, but haven't put that many miles on them yet but they have a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty. Quiet on the road and ride good. And are American made. I think I paid about $230 a tire for the 285/70r/17.
